
Who Was Stuart?
Stuart Waters-Manning was known for his constant smile, contagious laugh and kind heart. He was sociable, polite, and always willing to help others.
Sport was a huge part of Stuart’s life. He loved football and rugby, was part of the Invictus football team, and dreamed of working in the sports industry. Ruston Sports and Social Club was like a second home to him, and he was a devoted Leicester City supporter.
Living With Epilepsy
Stuart was diagnosed with epilepsy at 13. His seizures were rare and mostly occurred at night. He was otherwise healthy, active, and enjyoying life — studying at Lincoln College, surrounded by friends and family.
What Happened?
On 15 May, Stuart suffered a sudden seizure during the day. He could not come out of it, and his heart stopped. Despite paramedics’ efforts, Stuart passed away at just 19 years old.
Following an investigation, his death was confirmed as SUDEP.
Why This Matters
No family should learn about SUDEP after losing a child.
